I failed at most of this stuff (I did okay with the submissions and novel/thesis draft, but […]

Happy Halloween from our little vampire witch! I’m #postingup with a donation to the family of Walter Wallace and to @phillybailout because five months later, five years later, 155 years later, we are still here. #blacklivesmatter

Please join me in #postingup, see my previous posts for more information. Take time to research an organization or non-profit that is going to remain on the front lines doing the work that needs to be done to create lasting change and DONATE at least $5 every time and then tag that organization in your post. Even if you don’t have the funds, bring awareness instead!
Yesterday @dirtylittle and I celebrated our 12 yea Yesterday @dirtylittle and I celebrated our 12 year anniversary. Today, I am extending our celebration by #postingup with a donation to @phillymindset an amazing organization founded to support community equity through allocating educational resources to students and families in the Philadelphia area. They aim to address the concerns of our community by providing just a few simple essentials for students K-12. As children go back to school, let’s make it our mission to stop ignoring the inequity that exists in our school system. You can make a difference by buying a gift card, or specific items from the registry. It’s so easy! Grab a few folders, notebooks, pencil sharpeners or earphones. Link in my profile and please give @phillymindset a follow!

Please join me in #postingup, an effort designed to ask white women (dudes and non-binary friends too, don’t let that silly gender label stop you!) to stop and think before posting that picture of food, vacations, or your kid’s birthday party. Let’s recognize our privilege and the fact that racism, inequality, and fear for our children’s safety is not in the forefront of our minds. before posting a selfie or a picture of a pet, press pause. take time to research an organization or non-profit that is going to remain on the front lines doing the work that needs to be done to create lasting change and DONATE at least $5 every time. Tag that organization in your post and challenge your white friends who want you to see that sunset picture to do the same.

This is not an excuse to tune out and not actively engage in the hands-on work that Black activists and organizers have consistently been doing outside of our narrow focus. This is just a way to help fund this movement when our privileged gaze starts to wander. Let’s not flake out this time.
